Het overkomt ons allemaal wel eens. En dan is er dat stemmetje in uw hoofd dat zegt \u201cdat slaaptekort haal ik wel weer in\u201d. Maar is dat ook echt zo, <\/span><b>kan u een slaaptekort inhalen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? En hoe werkt dat dan?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slapen is \u00e9\u00e9n van de belangrijkste levensbehoeften, maar <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/equilli.com\/be\/hoeveel-slaap-nodig\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hoeveel slaap we echter nodig hebben<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, verschilt van persoon tot persoon. Gemiddeld genomen kunnen we zeggen dat een volwassen persoon rond de <\/span><b>7 \u00e0 8 uur slaap nodig heeft per nacht<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het respecteren van een constant slaap-waakritme draagt bij aan een goede gezondheid. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slaapt u minder? Dan bouwt u een slaaptekort op. Een slaaptekort van \u00e9\u00e9n nacht wordt bovendien opgeteld bij uw vorige slaaptekorten. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Veel mensen denken immers dat het slaaptekort (ook wel de slaapschuld) van tijdens de week op te lossen is door bijvoorbeeld in het weekend langer uit te slapen. Helaas is dit niet het geval.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het belang van een constant slaapritme<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Er gaat altijd veel aandacht naar de optimale hoeveelheid slaap per nacht, maar helaas wordt er nog veel te weinig gehamerd op <\/span><b>het belang van een constant slaapritme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volgens Borb\u00e9ly wordt onze slaap gedreven door <\/span><b>twee processen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, namelijk:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proces S: homeostatische slaapdruk;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proces C: circadiaan ritme<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De <\/span><b>homeostatische slaapdruk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> wordt geleidelijk aan opgebouwd wanneer we wakker zijn. Hoe langer we wakker zijn, hoe hoger de slaapdruk. Onze <\/span><b>biologische klok<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ook wel de circadiane klok genoemd, geeft onze neiging om te slapen weer. Deze varieert gedurende de 24-uurscyclus. Proces C bepaalt dat we overdag minder geneigd zijn om te slapen dan \u2018s nachts. Proces S zorgt ervoor dat we meer slaapdruk ervaren wanneer we langer wakker zijn. Onze neiging om te slapen is het grootst wanneer de afstand tussen proces S en proces C het grootst is.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wat kan je dan wel doen?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eerst en vooral is het belangrijk dat we <\/span><b>zo weinig mogelijk slaaptekorten opbouwen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Gebeurt het toch eens een keer? Probeer dan meteen erna uw normale ritme opnieuw te respecteren, maar <\/span><b>calculeer de komende nachten bijvoorbeeld een extra half uurtje slaap in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, om uw slaaptekort van de vorige nacht in te halen.
