Dat betekent natuurlijk niet dat onze hersenen gedurende onze nachtrust niet actief zijn, integendeel zelfs! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tijdens onze slaap doorlopen we namelijk<a href=\"https:\/\/equilli.com\/be\/de-structuur-van-slaap\/\"> verschillende fasen<\/a> die elk een specifieke functie hebben. Zo doorlopen we achtereenvolgens fase 1 &amp; 2 (lichte slaap), fase 3 &amp; 4 (diepe slaap) \u00a0waarna we in \u2018<\/span><b>REM slaap<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 terechtkomen. \u00a0Zulke slaapcyclus herhaalt zich 4 tot 5 keer per nacht.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hoewel dat misschien zo aanvoelt, dromen we allesbehalve acht uur aan een stuk. Vooral tijdens de REM slaap, komen levendige dromen voor. Deze REM periode duurt <\/span><b>zo\u2019n 5 \u00e0 45 minuten per cyclus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wat is de REM slaap?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">REM staat voor \u2018rapid eye movement\u2019. Het is de slaapperiode waarbij <\/span><b>elke spanning in de skeletspieren wegvalt<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en onze ogen snelle horizontale en verticale bewegingen maken. Gemiddeld maken we doorheen de nacht zo\u2019n 5 REM periodes mee, die aanvankelijk kort zijn, maar tot 45 minuten kunnen oplopen naarmate de nacht vordert. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De functie van de REM slaap, en dus ook de reden waarom we dromen, is niet volledig gekend. Zeker is dat de REM slaap cruciaal is voor het <\/span><b>verwerken van informatie<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Bij gebrek hieraan worden we immers sneller moe en geprikkeld, en hebben we meer moeite om nieuwe informatie op te nemen.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/equilli.com\/be\/gezondslapen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10006 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/equilli.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Gezondslapengids.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"126\" srcset=\"https:\/\/equilli.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Gezondslapengids.png 650w, https:\/\/equilli.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Gezondslapengids-300x58.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dromen en slapen: denkpatroon bijsturen<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Waarom we precies dromen als we slapen, is onduidelijk. Al helemaal omdat de hersenen anders werken wanneer we dromen: doordat het rationele aspect verdwijnt, dromen we <\/span><b>vaak onlogisch en onsamenhangend<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Bovendien worden oude zaken in verband gebracht met nieuwe zaken, waardoor nieuwe patronen van denken en handelen kunnen ontstaan. Dit gebeurt allemaal automatisch, maar kan wel gevolgen hebben voor hoe we denken overdag.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Soorten dromen<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Er bestaan verschillende soorten dromen, waarvan <\/span><b>lucide dromen <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">misschien wel het meest tot de verbeelding spreken. Lucide verwijst naar de heldere staat waarin de dromer zich bevindt. Het zijn namelijk dromen waarin we weten dat we aan het dromen zijn en dus actief de inhoud kunnen sturen.
