Rien ne pourrait \u00eatre plus \u00e9loign\u00e9 de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 ! <strong>Le sommeil est en fait un \u00e9tat actif pour notre cerveau<\/strong> dans lequel nous passons par diff\u00e9rentes phases. Chacune de ces phases de sommeil a une fonction sp\u00e9cifique pour nous maintenir en forme physiquement et mentalement.<\/p>\n<h2>Qu&rsquo;est-ce qu&rsquo;un cycle de sommeil ?<\/h2>\n<p>On peut en fait distinguer <strong>deux types de sommeil<\/strong> : Le sommeil non-REM et le sommeil REM. REM est l&rsquo;abr\u00e9viation de Rapid Eye Movement. Dans le sommeil non-REM, on distingue deux phases :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Phase 1 : la transition entre l&rsquo;\u00e9veil et le sommeil<\/li>\n<li>Phase 2 : sommeil l\u00e9ger<\/li>\n<li>Phases 3 et 4 : sommeil profond (\u00e9galement appel\u00e9 SWS ou \u00ab\u00a0Slow Wave Sleep\u00a0\u00bb)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Un cycle de sommeil consiste en la succession des diff\u00e9rents stades du sommeil non paradoxal (1 \u00e0 4) suivis du sommeil paradoxal.<\/p>\n<p>Un cycle de sommeil complet dure environ une heure et demie et se r\u00e9p\u00e8te 4 \u00e0 5 fois par nuit. Toutes sortes de substances (par exemple, l&rsquo;hormone de croissance) sont produites et nous aident \u00e0 r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer physiquement. Les ondes c\u00e9r\u00e9brales ralentissent et augmentent en amplitude. Il faut beaucoup d&rsquo;efforts pour r\u00e9veiller quelqu&rsquo;un d&rsquo;un sommeil profond et cela s&rsquo;accompagne d&rsquo;une d\u00e9sorientation et d&rsquo;une grande somnolence.<\/p>\n<p>Pendant le sommeil paradoxal (\u00e9galement appel\u00e9 <strong>sommeil de r\u00eave<\/strong>), notre <strong>cerveau est tr\u00e8s actif<\/strong>. C&rsquo;est dans cette phase que se produisent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement nos r\u00eaves. Les yeux font des mouvements rapides et la tension des muscles squelettiques diminue.
